There are a number of sub communities at UMA. The Ron Wood Universe is one of the strongest. Ron has started the majority of his students from level zero, at which point many didn't know how to cartwheel or just weren't confident about inverting. Through Ron's expert guidance and maintenance of a supportive and nurturing environment, there is a whole crew at UMA who have become proficient in the knowledge of his Universe. Ron's version of the UMA Dip aims to make the more athletic and acrobatic features of our school a comfortable home to reside in for more people.
UMA Dip: Conditioning On-Ramp is a 4 week program that starts even slower than his beginner classes. The program strives to get you ready and comfortable to pursue movement that puts you on all fours, inverted and/or completely flat to the ground. The class provides you with understanding on how to warm up and prepare your body. It provides you sequences that support you to learn skills in a comfortable and progressive way at a pace that works for your level. The class offers a technical and vocabulary based overview and introduction to the types of movements and sequences that you will encounter in Movement Flow, Capoeira, House Dance Ground Moves and Break Dance classes. You will also be provided with helpful tips for practice at home. No matter what, completion of UMA Dip: Conditioning On Ramp will result in discoveries of new possibilities and capacities in how you move and control your body. |
